Project Overview

Protecting Aircraft with a Design That Adds Long-Term Value

For this client, designing an aircraft hangar that was not only a high-quality structural build but also sympathetic to the surrounding buildings on the property was a priority — along with ensuring the finished structure would add long-term value to the site.

R&F’s Approach

Thoughtful Design and Precision Construction by R&F Warwick

R&F Steel Buildings Warwick worked closely with the client, carefully considering scale, colour selection, and integration with existing structures to deliver a fully tailored aircraft hangar that balances aviation-grade functionality with architectural harmony.

The Solution

Spacious Aircraft Hangar with Purposeful, Site-Sensitive Design

The completed hangar delivers a high-clearance, steel portal frame structure designed for both strength and everyday functionality.

A standout feature is the custom on-site manufactured sliding doors, built to achieve a precise fit and smooth operation. Paired with a purpose-designed track system, this allows seamless entry and exit between the hangar and the concrete apron—critical for safe and efficient aircraft movement.

The wide-span design provides generous internal space, while the selected finishes ensure the building integrates seamlessly with surrounding structures, delivering both performance and long-term value.

Project Scope

Practical, End-to-End Build Delivery

  • Concrete footings and slab
  • Engineering and structural design and supply
  • On-site fabrication of sliding doors for a precise fit
  • Full construction and installation
  • Supply of 23,000L rainwater tank

Note: Building approvals were managed directly by the client.

Project Timeline

Efficient Build Completed Within

  • Contract signed: March
  • Kit delivered to site: June
  • Concrete works completed: July
