When Your Shed Needs to Grow With You

As lifestyles change, so do storage needs — and for Gary, his existing shed simply wasn’t large enough to accommodate his caravan after moving to a new property in Oakey. The brief was straightforward: extend the existing shed in a way that felt like it had always been there, without taking up unnecessary space on the block.

Designed to Blend In and Work Better

R&F Steel Buildings Toowoomba was engaged to engineer and construct a shed extension that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure. A key focus was usability. The extension was carefully designed so that a small roller door on the gable end aligned perfectly with the caravan’s access door—making loading and unloading simple and efficient when preparing for trips or returning home.

Practical, Space-Efficient and Built to Match

The finished extension delivers a clean, functional addition that complements the original shed while providing dedicated caravan storage. To ensure the two spaces work as one, sections of the existing shed wall were carefully removed—allowing direct access between the original structure and the new extension. This approach creates a seamless transition, making the entire space feel as though it was always part of the original build.

By keeping the design compact and purposeful, the structure maximises usability without overwhelming the property. The result is a practical solution that improves day-to-day convenience while maintaining a cohesive look across the site.
